The Babcock Family

An open letter from Jessica Babcock

Who are we?

Our family of five includes my husband and I,
and our 3 small children.
We have been called as missionaries
and live full time in Mexico.

We serve as missionaries through Baja Love Outreach
and are accountable to them in our finances.
Our home Church is Calvary Chapel Punta Banda,
and we look to them for spiritual authority and guidance.

What do we do?

I serve as an ESL teacher to 24 children of all ages
in an orphanage called The Kid’s Kingdom.
Being their English teacher opens doors every day
to share the gospel, mentor them and pour into their lives
in long lasting, meaningful ways. In a culture and country of desperate poverty, English is the key that opens many doors.

I also give supplemental therapy for children at
The Gabriel House and Puerta Hermosa.
Two special needs orphanages in the same area.
Our services add greatly to their quality of life
and they cherish the one on one time!

My Husband’s much needed (and much appreciated!)
roll in our ministry is to serve as a stay at home Dad.
This is a vital ministry that forms a firm foundation
for all the other ministries the Lord calls us to.

Finally, our family is in the process of adopting a 9-year boy from the Puerta Hermosa that has Shaken Baby Syndrome.
He has very low cognitive functioning and high medical needs. We know this will be a challenge but we take the Lord seriously when he said to take care of widows and orphans in their distress.

How can you get involved?

You are invited to come down to Mexico and experience what we do, and meet the Children that we serve.
We would be honored to host you and put together a trip based on the desires, gifts and interests of you and your congregation.
I know that you would be blessed by the experience.

How can you help?

We are asking people that believe in the work that we do, to partner with us financially.
Individuals in your congregation can do that with a one-time gift, by offering monthly support or donating items for the ministry.

We are also in continuous need of prayer. We would be honored if you would add our family and ministry
to your congregation’s prayer list.

Thank You so much for considering ways to contribute and get involved in the work and ministry in Baja.
God bless you as we all further the kingdom together!
